FAQs: Insurance Defense Investigations

What kind of insurance defense cases do you accept?
We will investigate any insurance claim where our client has seen indicators of fraud. Many of our insurance defense cases involve surveillance on a claimant whose alleged injuries are not supported by medical reports. We also investigate Workers’ Comp cases where an insurance company suspects the claimant is involved in other employment. For more information on insurance defense investigations, go to our Attorney Services page.

How do you handle surveillance assignments?
That depends on a number of factors, such as where does the claimant reside and what kind of injuries are alleged. Sometimes one investigator, over a two or three day period, can establish a claimant’s daily patterns without any difficulty. Other times, we may need a two person surveillance team, due to challenging environmental factors.

How do you report your results?
Some results can be reported in a simple phone call or email to the client, such as daily activity reports. Our investigators routinely correspond with clients during a case. We can forward video results in different digital media. At the conclusion of an investigation, we can provide a written report.

Are you available to testify?
Yes, when necessary. Our investigators are experienced in courtroom decorum. Many of the insurance defense cases we are involved in never get to trial. Often times, a claimant’s counsel will recommend their client withdraw an exaggerated claim after viewing a surveillance video.

How much do you charge?
It depends. Most of our cases are billed by the hour plus expenses. However, we have flat fee arrangements for two or three day surveillance periods. For new clients, we require a retainer arrangement.

What type of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, PayPal and checks.

How do we contact you?
You can always call our office from 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday (phone 812-334-8857). Our investigators have cell phone numbers and email addresses printed on their business cards, and often communicate directly with clients during cases. You can also go to our contact page on this web site and send us a message. If you have a legal matter you think an investigator can help you with, we want to hear from you.
